What's hiding in the leaves above you?
Every walk starts with looking up, and someone asking a question.
Join a nature walk →Nature is always telling stories. Are we listening?
A koel calling from the treetops at dawn. A line of ants carrying their eggs to higher ground. A crab's tracks fading with the tide. Every day the world around us is full of stories, and most of us walk right past them.
naturemuseum.in is a place to slow down, listen and look closely. Through travelling specimens, walks, field guides and citizen science, we help children and communities notice the living world, ask questions about it, and fall in love with the place they call home.

Indian Chameleon
Chamaeleo zeylanicus · Telugu: ఊసరవెల్లి (Oosaravelli)
Each eye swivels on its own, the tongue shoots out to catch insects, and the curled tail grips like a fifth hand. At night it sleeps out on a twig, often paler than by day.
